I currently use the stationary bike instead of running.

I dont really have a choice, im coming off of ACL surgery and I cant quite run yet. If you encorporate hills or customize an HIIT type biking regiment, you can still burn some good calories.

Obviously, like everyone else is saying, it doesnt compare to running, but I wouldnt let that stop you. I was trying to lose weight before I tore my ACL, so I kept dieting/biking/lifting after surgery, and I've lost 15 lbs in 2 months via this method.
