""Quite good. Starting from the year 0, you might be able to advance civilization to the 17th or even 19th century. You are technologically useful.""

Sweet.

you get the idea

in 1300AD, you can't just take your pick out of your 16 slot bag and double click on the ore deposit magically sticking out of the ground

I don't get it
what is a 16 slot bag?

FWIW
1300AD tech would get you pretty far with a little knowledge

I could make my own electrical generator, then generate X-rays and detect them on a photo scintillation plate. Yay me!

I think the hardest parts would be:

1. Overcoming the language barrier.

2. Overcoming superstitution, etc. that might get you killed before you can do anything useful.

3. Gathering the resources needed. Money, materials (I don't know about you but I can't go outside and find all the various chemicals needed for a lot of stuff)

I've read a lot of books that deal with this subject. Once you start getting to a large scale things like sewer systems and agriculture improvements have by far the largest effect on civilization.

I think I'd be moderately useful as long as I could survive long enough to learn the language and get someone rich to sponsor all of my invetions and ideas.

I was actually thinking about this a few days ago. And then I realized I am a type 1 diabetic. I would get to have a very painful death a few days after I got there. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME!

Now, if that didn't exist I would probably die quickly cause I looked different then the people there just like the rest of you.
