Well I saved some bucks with your suggestions. Thanks guys. Is this looking better? I've decided to put my 8800 gt in my hackintosh so I would like to get a new video card. |

If you are buying a new vidcard, why the hell are you sticking with the gf 260 that a lot of people advise against?
I mean for 212 bux you could go to the docks and get fucked by five marines with the money you save on buying a 5770 for instance. I just don't get the point of asking for advice if you aint gonna listen (and/or insist being stupid).

yeah, you can save some more with a 5770.
Cheapest one on newegg is this MSI at $165: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814127457 the XFX version is $195. That gtx260 is a good card and I believe that it averages faster than the 5770 but I would rather save the money. If the hackintosh won't be used for gaming, maybe consider a very low end card for that and keep the 8800GT till you start seeing good deals in gaming cards (since it appears that is what you want considering the gtx260).

i just built my parents a new PC a few weeks ago, they do most common tasks plus my niece plays some games on it as well and my mom plays some FPS games.
they already had a nice antec case and HDD, monitor, OS, ect. i added a nice Scythe MUGEN-2 for quiet cooling and they are really happy with it. i just gave it a slight OC to about 3 to 3.2Ghz, i can't remember, at default voltages and it runs cool and quiet. not bad for under $600 IMO ![]() |
