Consider this; a huge asteroid hits the earth, you take cover in a vault of some kind with a few thousand people, and after say, 10-15 years, the dust has settled and you can go outside again.

It would be a whole new beginning. You could do any number of things from there onwards. You could start a farm, sow crops and live for yourself. You could go off exploring the ruins of old cities. You could start working with a new government to restore the planet. You wouldn't be bound like you are nowadays.

Man, that would be the life, you know. A whole new world. None of the luxuries we have now. We'd be back to the basics, with a whole new set of values and aspirations. It'd be just like the old west again.

What do you think.

The nuclear reactors that power the vault simply split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Likewise there is a large hydroponic garden powered by said nuclear reactors.

What would I do? I'd start a broom making company. I'd be RICH with all the dust people have to clean!
