Does Moox Build Slow down your download speed?

I was just wondering this cos since I got it, I have been downloading files at 80kbs when I know I can hit 120kb quite comfortable. I got a 1MB connection

It shouldn't... as i understand it the moox build is just a regular build (pulled from the mozilla CVS the same as the real ones) compiled with specific processor optimizations turned on

Some sites limit your download speed, some might have heavy loads at the time. Also, if you have cable, it won't run at full speed all the time.

Edit: Disclaimer: I am not stating anything about ISP server load issues, based on peak hours and number of issues. Please don't put words in my mouth.

There are a few tiny mods too, like in the URL drop down it cuts off on the far left, which is good.

Depends on the provider, actually.

You don't know what you're talking about so please stop perpetuating such lies and slander. Cable is every bit as good as DSL in the bandwidth department, far succeeding it in many, many cases for the same amount of money or less.

download xp sp2, the microsoft servers usually max out most connections, check what the download speed is.

what the fuck? shut the fuck up. he's correct. it's true for DSL too. if you have a "3mbit" connection, it's not going to download at 3mb/s.

No, he's wrong.

He seems to think that cable bandwidth depends on the time of day, amount of users on one pipe.

If a SITE is under HEAVY LOAD, your DOWNLOAD SPEED from THAT SITE is going to be decreased.

my 3 megabit connection downloads at like 2.8 megabits max..

There is such a thing called over-head. We do have to transfer the ip address, and error correction bits in each packet

if anything, the Moox build has actually sped my connection up. I'm on a 7 megabit cable line.

So you're saying that's not data transfer?
