Picnic in San Mateo, CA - read about other people's lives! (56k = maybe, 4 big pics)

The GT Alumni Association for Northern California had a picnic today at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo. Free food you say? JACKPOT!

These pics were taken toward the end so many people had left. Pics are resized from 6MP, no post. My Fuji E550 sucks the cockle


The redhead in the front left is Dana. She's a packaging manager at Genentech in South San Francisco and formerly worked for Intel. I.E. '91 and MBA '95. That's an awfully small dress to wear on such a windy day when you're nearing 40. Very friendly though.

The kekeke sitting behind her is Jeong. He's a 3rd year EE major at Georgia Tech. We are "advised" to choose a field of specialization but he's not sure what he wants to do. He has the same phone as me (go go Nokia 6230!).

The guy sitting behind him is Alex. Alex is from Romania and moved here 11 years ago with his parents to Texas. He was a PhD student (having received his M.S.E.E.) when I met him at an AMD recruiting session in Austin in March. He gave up his PhD studies a couple months ago to work at Intel Folsom writing assembly to test circuits. He really enjoys his work.

Moving over to the right we have Michelle. She is the president of the NorCal GT Alumni Association. She graduated B.S. Chemistry around '98 and now works for a company that helps pharmaceutical gcompanies bring their products to market.

The old guy in front of Michelle, I don't know his name. He graduated Civil Engineering in the 1960's. I didn't talk to him too much.

The guy in the front right is Keith. EE '97. He now works at a startup. He is dating Michelle and they live in the San Francisco area. I'm planning to play golf with him a week from Tuesday

And here's me in the picture.

The guy with the glasses was very "dark and mysterious". His license plate had a UT Austin frame so I assume he came as a friend. He was the grillmaster .

The lady sitting behind him is Lauren. She works for a consulting firm in San Francisco after transferring from their HQ in Atlanta. I believe she graduated 2003 though I don't know which major.
