Hi! I like peepee ok bye

Where to eat in NYC
This is going to be a bit short because I am on my sidekick wasting time between classes, but I'll be sure to add more places throughout the year and as I think of them
Legend $ 1-5 per person $$ 5-10 pp $$$ 10-15 pp $$$$ 15-20 pp $$$$$ 20 and up per person The original Ray's Pizza, $ when it's good there is nothing better, especially when you are drunk, pizza plus beer is always one of my favorites. Gray's Papaya, $ amazing some may argue that nathans has a better hot dog but hell I have never even bothered going to nathans because grays is so damn good and cheap. Get the recession special, under 3 bucks you get 2 dogs and a fresh fruit drink, like papaya juice, pineapple, orange, and so on. Pipa, $$$$-$$$$$ traditional spanish food at its finest. I recommend getting reservations, and getting a pitcher of sangria, the calamari (which is some of the best I have ever eaten), and the paella which is loaded with fresh seafood, plenty to share as well. Prune, $$$$$ great intimate restaurant, very small with an open kitchen, you will definetly need reservations to get in. When I was there last the lead singer of the counting crows was as well. The goat cheese appetizer is great and if you like soft shelled crab it's hard to beat. For an entree I recommend the suckling pig which is complimented by great sauces. The steak black and blue is also a winner. Try to save some room for desert and grab a fruit crisp, it's great. They also serve you boiled peanuts which I found weird for such a pricey joint. Nobu, $$$$$ if you have any desire to ever eat here you must have reservations or be famous. Great place to see celebs, I caught marky mark wahlberg last time I was there. The drinks are amazing, and I got a tad plastered there hah. Their sushi isn't anything better than you would get anywhere else, but the entrees are a-fucking-mazing. Do not miss the shrimp tempura it is quite possibly the greatest thing I have ever tasted, we ordered more even though we were full and had rung up an $800 plus bill. More to come as I remember names of a few restaurants I have been to in the past week |

Mei Lah Wah Tea House, 64 Bayard St in Chinatown, $ one of the oldest tea houses in chinatown, and basically everyone who works there is over 60. If you are in or around chinatown and looking for a quick and cheap lunch and you don't feel like the typical chinese food (though I will soon be writing up about one of those that is great, and across the street.. As soon as I remember the name.) hit this place up. They are famous for their pork buns, my favorite are the steamed which were 60 cents a piece (I heard they just went to 70, but I'll check that out later this week). Its basically baked dough filled with delicious marinated pork (I don't even like pork) and two fill me, I'd say get 3 if you can eat a lot. The roasted buns are nice as well and are covered in a sweet honey butter glaze maybe? It's the place to go in chinatown if you're a local or wish you were and want to get a cheap (hey like under 2 bucks here) filling good ass lunch.
Also for a cool dessert check out the street vendor selling little chinese cakes. For a dollar or so you get 10 to 16 little cakes and they're also pretty good. Yesterday a saw a street vendor making and selling lo mein for a dollar for a full styrofoam container, if I find him again I will let you all know how good it is. |

Dukes on 19th and Park Ave South- $$$
Amazing homestyle southern food. Fried Calamari is amazing and comes with a Jalapano dipping sauce that is just fucking insane. The Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Big D Burger are definatly my 2 favorites. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is piled high with juicy BBQ Sauce slathered pork and comes with their homemade fries that are quite possibly some of the best ive ever eaten. The Big D Burger is just insanity, its like a heart attack on a plate. 1/2lb Burger with cheddar, bacon and chili. The Mac n' Cheese also makes a great side dish.

Ok I just went by the gray's papaya on 6th avenue and 8th st, and the recession special is still rocking at 2.75 for 2 dogs and a drink.
I also went by Mamoun's falafel on macdougal between 3rd and 2nd streets. So let me rate it. Mamoun's Falafel, $, get a falafel or hummus sandwhich, they are only 2 bucks and pretty filling. The sandwhich is with lettuce tomato and falafel balls crammed into a pita and slathered in tahini sauce. Very small inside so don't plan to eat there as the few seats are always full. NYU students swear by it, but they're morons, I just one and its great for 2 dollars, but does not compare to what I believe is the best falafel joint in the city, chickpea. Chickpea, $ located on 3rd avenue and st.marks, it is my favorite place in the city to get a falafel sandwhich. For around 4 bucks you get a great fresh baked pita filled with falafel balls, salad, and basically anything you tell them to put it in from hummus to pickles. The eggplant sandwhich is also great. It's always packed but it usually has a bit of room to sit down and make sure you do so you can continue you slather your sandwhich in tahini and hot sauce. |

Blue Nine Burger, $-$$ 3rd avenue between 14th and 11th, not exactly sure what block it is. If you like In-n-out in california and you miss it while you're in new york, then go to blue nine. Basically its the same deal as in-n-out, small menu, but good burgers. The fries could be a bit better there, but the shakes are great and I guess it's a bit more than in-n-out, but new york is an expensive town.
La Laterna di Vittorio, $$$-$$$$, on macdougal between 4th and 3rd streets. Decent italian food, but the pizza and wine lists are amazing. Pizzas you won't find at the corner pizza joints, that are creative and pretty good. Nice place for a date. It's better than going all the way down to little italy and getting overcharged at a hit or miss place. |

hmm, never been to Chickpea, been going to Mamouns for ages tho and love it. While were in that area..... Peanut Butter & Co- Sullivan St between Bleecker and West 3rd St- $$ Went here with Sizzlinggrace a little while ago after constantly walking past the place and never trying it. Got their signature Elvis sandwich which consists of the peanut butter of your choice (Smooth, Crunchy, Chocolate, White Chocolate, Cinnamon Raisin and Spicy, yes, thats right, spicy peanut butter) anyways the sandwich consists of peanut butter, bananas and honey and is then grilled. I was a bit weary about it since ive always been a creature of simple classics and adding things to a PB sandwich always seemed a bit off to me. The sandwich was served with some potato chips and seemed fairly small when it arrived. However once I started eating I loved every bite that I took. Not only that, it ended up being extremely filling and I was barely able to finish it off. The other sandwiches they had looked interesting as well and can be found at the link below. If youre ever in that area and want something out of the ordinary, definatly check it out. http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/san...hop.cfm?show=2

Silver spurs, $$-$$$, there are a few around the city I believe, but I've always just gone to the one on broadway. Again it's a bit pricey for a hamburger place, but their menu is huge, with just about anything on a burger you could want. Also after the burger comes out you'll realise why it was so pricey, the meat in the burger is just frigging huge, when I was 265 pounds I still had a problem finishing one. The breakfasts are also pretty good, and its a cool dinner to hang out in.

Actually while I am in math class and bored
Grilled Cheese NYC, $$, located on ludlow, this grilled cheese joint has everything from ordinary to extrodinary. They are famous for their motsy, which is mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatos, and other good things I can't remember right now. The point is if you like grilled cheese sandwhiches go, and cream yourself |

If you like pizza then try John's Pizza at 278 Bleecket Street at 6th and 7th Ave. $$$ depending on how hungry you are. Casual dining with funky artwork on the walls. There was a line when I went. I had a pizza with sausage, pepperoni and meatballs. The crust was phenomenal. Crispy and thin but delicious. They use fresh traditional toppings. All in all a great pizza.

Went by last night, and the pork buns went to 70 cents which if they hadn't been 60 cent in the first place would still impress me. I got the big combination bun last night that consists of pork, egg, and chicken. It wasn't my cup of tea, so i shall be sticking to the steamed pork bun. New Yeah Shanghai Deluxe, $$-$$$$, 65 Bayard St. Chinatown. Chances are if I had actually seen the name of this place before I went in I probably wouldn't have eaten here, But I am so glad I did. In the front their windows are covered with newspaper clippings and photos with such celebrities as Fabio. Their menu is expansive and well priced and all the dishes I saw looked and smelled great. I went with my friend Samantha and between us we can put away a lot of food, so we started with the spicy cabbage (not as spicy as i would have liked, but good), an order of dumplings (very filling, and pretty good), and the house special fried rice. We planned on ordering an entree or two, but it soon became apparent that would not happen. The dumplings came in 8 and they were all quite large. But the kicker was the fried rice, filled with shrimp, calamari, ham, and i think chicken (my memory is shot). It was great and we both tried to greedily stuff it down so we could get more. We finished about half of it, it was huge. I took the rest of the fried rice and a dumpling home. Our total for the 3 things only came to like 14.36, I almost shit my pants when I saw the bill and was expecting atleast 20. Anyways the point is go and don't be scared by the name. |
