new views on racial profiling

I was all against racial profiling for my whole life.
I knew there were good people of all races, creeds, I live in the land of the free, we should be equal, ect ect ect...

But when shit hits home, I had to change.

I go to college in a small town, like 10000 ppl, and the college is about 2500 ppl. (www.oberlin.edu).

In the last two weeks alone, there have been about 15 robberies.
15 robberies of fucking serious shit, labtops, ipods, palm pilots, wallets, picked out of backpacks in rooms all over campus, in two weeks.

In many of the cases, right after or before the robbery was guessed to have taken place, people told the authorities that 'young black men' who 'nobody on campus knew' were noticed walking the floors and halls of the dorm/library/hall.



Last night, my GF found one (young black men who nobody knew; she's the SRA so she knows everyone) knocking on dorm room doors. When she asked what he was doing, he said he had the wrong room and headed for the exit. She went to get her cell phone and follow him but he had ran the fuck out of there.

Fuck this shit. Some of my friends in my house lost their laptop to this shit. Some people noticed black kids going up to our porch and chillin, looking through the windows. When questioned, they said the person they were looking for wasnt there, and they took the fuck off. Two days later, fucking laptop gone.
There was even a holdup a block from my house after hours last week.
The next black kid I see around campus, I'm fucking calling the cops on and following.

the bottom line is that now because of the pattern, you can tell instantly if they are a black college student or a black thief from a mile away.

if i have to fucking follow a black person around for a few minutes, it's fucking worth it.
