It's called a low rotation. The pilot rolls down the runway @ maximum thrust, gets way more than enough airspeed for a safe liftoff, and smartly pulls the stick aft while simultaneously raising the gear handle. It looks really cool when a military jet does it, but this is a big honkin' airliner--the pilots in there have no way of ejecting if they screw up the maneuver.
