Dedicated Hosting: I need some and need your assistance guys!

Background: A friend of mine started a website about 7 months ago. Weekly podcast and what not, check it out here if you want, I'm not going to be anal and plug it every 5 seconds www.gonintendo.com

It's been growing slowly, and about a month ago it started getting CPU quota error messages. The reason: we were getting way too many damn hits. My friend complained to his web hosting provider, and he was nice enough to double our CPU quote. A month or so goes by with no issues, meanwhile we are still growing, and bam we are exceeding our CPU quota all over again.

My friend proceeds to talk to his web host, and he tells him that he is just going to need dedicated hosting and that there is nothing he can do.

Who knew a simple blog, with a forum, and a weekly podcast would be hitting daily traffic loads of 1+ million hits a day.

Goal: What I ask of you is a solution, who do you trust in the industry? What type of server am I going to have to configure? Can said company help transfer over the site from our previous host?

Thanks Guys! Throw as many links, and petite reviews as you possibly can!

And by the way, this thread isn't about the content of the site, its about who and what we should use for dedicated hosting since our web hosting solution isn't up to snuff.

Well...dreamhost is ok...I dunno what they're like for mega traffic, but after they moved me to a different server I haven't experienced any problems.

1tb+8gb a week
9.94 for first year
9.xx a month there-after

Have you considered asking your current host what it would cost to get them to set you up with dedicated hosting? They did, after all, increase the CPU quota for you, so it's not like they're not trying to accommodate you.
