ITT: I submit myself for lynching.....(RX7 engine swap)

Well....I have decided that NA FC's are so butt slow, it's time for a motor swap.

After reviewing my rotary options I decided to pass. All of them are way too expensive and much too difficult to set up reliably, etc.

Seeing as how I have my built 360 just sitting here I look ONE MORE TIME for a V8 kit that works with anything NON-LS1. (Dont worry genmay race team, i have 2 other stock mopar V8's lol).

EUREKA! Granny's Speed Shop makes a bolt in cradle for Mopar small blocks!

The swap is on All i need now is a manual transmission. I think what Im going to go with is an R154 or W58 MKIII Supra transmission. Of course, I'll have to do a 5 lug conversion with a TII rear end.

But all in all I think this will be much smarter in the long run. I'll even get better gas mileage haha. The plan is to run Magnum heads, edelbrock carb with shorty headers.
I also plan on adding the FC convertible under-car bracing to help stiffen the chassis as well as a little home fab bracing myself. I'll be running a dual 3'' exhaust to an X-pipe to 2 flowmaster 40 series and dual glasspack fart cannons for the exit (Apex'i N1 look-a-likes).

Full interior will be left inside and hopefully i can get all the stock electronics to work (heater, blower motor, lights, gauges) as well as keep power steering.

I have no idea how Im gonna fit it under the hood though lol

Pic of car for reference

I see "GX" on the side, and can only assume it's a GXL, correct? Yet you say you need to do the 5 lug swap that the GXL's come with to begin with...

I can understand swapping the N/A rearend for the TII, though.

Ohyah, what kind of antenna is that on it? It doesn't look stock...

It's all bone stock. And it says GX on it cuz it is a GX. 4 lug wheels, base model with sunroof and electric mirrors.

The antenna is stock, the motor is broken though so it doesnt retract.
