Backyard?? I have a foot of snow in mine. Where do you live...? I like the last one. The angle is much better then the first one. You should saturate the color a bit and darken it.

![]() Those pics are straight out of the RAW convertor, so only did a resize in PS and posted them up. Wanted to show what this lens is capable of without any post processing. |

I personally don't see the $1000 price tag in those pictures.

Never seen a white Christmas here in the 27 years I've been alive. Average temps for 25th December is 25C/77F so no snow here. Average minimum temps in my area only get down to 8C/46F so we'll never see a snowflake.
That 'bug' is a cicada shell, and will still be there unless disturbed by a gust of wind or other animal creeping by. Unfortunately I don't have any macro lenses or adapters so can't get a close shot ![]() As for it not being worth $1k, I could have easily said the pics were taken on my 70-200 f/2.8 IS and you'd probably have the same opinion. I can rarely differentiate between pics taken between either lens. Yes, EF-S *may* turn out to be a problem for me in the future, but for now, the lens is suiting me very well. |

Hmm, the first photo looks quite vibrant on my calibrated LCD. But still, the photo was straight out of the RAW convertor with no adjustments, so it could definitely be made a whole heap better. I was attempting to represent the pure lens capability (sharpness & bokeh) rather than anything else. Thanks for the input though ![]() |
