Dirty inside of washer
I have a pretty new washer, less than 6months old. The while plastic inside has started to accumulate a layer of some brown/grey film that does not come off when I rub my finger against it, almost sort of like if it was some sort of mold or fungus or who knows what. Should I worry about it, how should I clean it?

What brand/model is it?
I've worked for a repair company and know a lot about specific brands and models. As a general tip, if its a frontload do you leave the door ajar when you arent using it? You can run 1-2 cups of white vinegar through a normal load. Dump it directly in the drum. Don't add clothes or soap. It kills mold and bacteria. Make sure to use hot water. Specifically what surface is showing this film? Brown/grey generally is mold growth. As long as there isnt an odor, and you've ran vinegar through the unit a few times your health or clothes isnt at risk, but chances are your unit will be stained permanantly. |

two cups of bleach, half a drum of hot water, run full cyle, then run it once more with just hot water to flush.. we do that with our store's machine.

Look in your manufactuers manual. Running straight bleach through your machine is horrendous for it, it will deteroriate your door seals, and your drain lines.
I'm assuming you work with animals, or in a vet or pet store? I saw that pretty commonplace in that type of environment, it's the only thing that removes pet smell from a washer... but at the same time, destroys the unit at 2x the pace. chances are, you dont have a commercial unit in your place of business, technically voiding the warranty on just that fact alone, unless you bought it from a place like PC richards, which has the balls to sell a commercial contract on a non commercial unit. |

That would explain why it can handle that kinda abuse then. Anything made around that era or earlier was made like a freakin tank. The new plasticrap units made by brands like LG, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire are crap. |
