Prefetching

For what ever reason i cant view the [M] any more with firefox. every time i do i get the message

"Prefetching is not allowed due to the various privacy issues that arise."

How do i stop my firefox from doing this. i cant stand IE. I know there was a thread about it awhile ago but having no search ect makes it kind of hard to find.

I'm confused about this as well. When I try to use a bookmark to get here, I sometimes get the prefetch error message, but when I type in the address manually I never get it, unless I have gone here first from a bookmark.

If you look in

<Mozilla Directory>\greprefs\

There is a JScript file called all.js

If you open it (with notepad, or any text editor) you should see this line about midway through the file:

Quote:
// enables the prefetch service (i.e., prefetching of <link rel="next"> URLs).
pref("network.prefetch-next", true);
I would assume if you changed that true value to false, it would disable prefetching. I can't try it since I'm at work (and that error never happens here for some reason), but give that a shot.

FWIW, I've changed that value in about:config and I still get the prefetch page every so often.
