looking for a good NAS

Any one know of a good NAS?

I'm looking for something that can fit 2 drives but dosen't come with them as i would like to add my own. SATA is preferred but it's just for backup and i can settle with ATA.

Any one seen any cheaper ones? The ones i have found have such bad reviews and other are like 400+ and i would rather buy a PC then spend that much on a NAS with no drives

Do you have any old machines laying around collecting dust?

If so, check out FreeNAS. The price is right, and anything you can put into your old computer will work just fine.

Sometimes you can get good deals on Snap servers on ebay. Other than that build an elchepo box.
