Common amoung younger couples because people date so much. Bothers the shit out of me because I have insecurity issues, that just makes it harder.

I try and live by the golden rule. I would never do that to a partner and feel so let down when they've tried to do it to me.

For me it would depend on how long ago they were seeing each other, and the circumstances involved.

I once dated a girl about 8 years ago, we broke up, didn't speak for about 2 years, then became okay friends since then. I don't think my GF has any grounds to be upset (not that she has been upset) if I still speak to this ex, as we've been "just friends" since before I met my GF.

If, however, you're in a new relationship, and he/she starts hanging out with their ex out of the blue, I'd definately question it. It could be innocent, but then again, it may not be. In fact, unless they've demonstrated a history of "just being friends", I wouldn't be comfortable with it.

Speaking as that other guy, I have to say that it's up to how you feel about the girlfriend. I know one girl I would love to get back together with, but I don't act on anything for two reasons: 1) I think of myself as an honest person and 2) She would beat the ever loving shit out of me if I did.

Go with your gut. If it looks weird and seems weird, it's probably fuckin weird.
