Could this really work v. Traffic lights

http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/t...mote#more-8550

It's a video describing how to use a universal remote to get past traffic lights. I've read stories in the news about people bypassing them, but surely it's not THIS easy.

Some emergency vehicles do have "remotes" to change traffic lights, however it is very apparent one has been used, and is not readily available to the public.

You need an infrared strobe light that flashes at (IIRC) somewhere around 10-15Hz. The problem with building one is apparently finding an infrared strobe capable of that speed, but once you have one, I don't think it's hard to do.

it definitely exists for emergency vehicles

there are only a handful of cities that actually used this system though

Yeah there is a device you can get that will do it. But its hard to get, kinda expensive, and is illegal to possess in some areas. Its not worth the risk unless its an emergency. And you're better off dialing 911 for that instead of trying to get there yourself.
