Upside to girl:
You get sex, no risk of pregnancy. Downside: Multiple substance abuser Single mom Baby daddy drama Hep C Needs you to drive her around for some reason? Even the "no risk of pregnancy" isn't pure win. You're 22, how do you know you won't want kids later on? You're either going to drop her, or be playing Mr Support Machine for a very long time. People like her don't just heal in any reasonable amount of time. Even if (and that's a huge if) she gets over the drugs and alcohol abuse, the underlying issues that drove her to abuse are still going to be around. Also, if you find yourself at the point in the relationship where you need a "break", the relationship is fucked. The issues are bigger than you ought to bother to deal with. Trying to move mountains to save the relationship when you're young and have lots of options is just dumb. Get out, find a less damaged girl, and live your life without having to be an abuse councillor. |
