Finally sold my '04 SRT-4. After 3 years I was getting sick of it.

Sold it with 63.8k miles on it for $12,000.00


Here's the new toy: '04 Mazda3 hatch, 5 speed, only 28k miles on it, for $12,500.00




So what's a good mazda forum? Can't read srtforums all day at work now.

Awesome! I just bought a 07 Mazda3 S-Sport hatch, 5speed w/ 6cd changer and moonroof. Picking it up Saturday.

I might make a thread when I get it. I drove it in the county of the dealership for an hour as my test drive

Congrats on your new car. Looks like a pretty nice transition, finance wise as well. What made you sick of having the SRT? All the import love it gets at the stoplight?

You'll miss the SRT-4's speed eventually... you'll want it back At least as a weekends-only car or whatever.

The SRT4 wasn't stock either so I have about half the horse power now. I won't lie - I do miss the popping sound of the exhaust and the push your brain into the back of your skull torque but the nicer interior materials and rear storage is definately sweet.

Who knows too, this car might just end up being a transition vehicle for a few years until I find a mazdaspeed 3 for a reasonable price or even the '08+ impreza hatchback STi (if it doesn't end up looking as bad as the WRX).

What I got sick of with the SRT4 is the fact that I've been driving it for the past 3 years. Its still a fun car, every time I went WOT it'd put a smile on my face but I just got bored with the same old thing.

My brother is the same way except he barely keeps cars for a year. He went from a 93 Mustang GT, to an 04 SRT-4, to a Pontiac Aztek, to a 97 Cobra, to an 03 Evo VIII, and now to an 03 Focus SVT.. in the space of like 4 years

How the hell buys an Asstek? Even after having an SRT4 that is still a shitty vehicle and then the focus after the Evo?

yeah i got eaten up pretty bad with my 03 Evo, did he have a problem in 5th gear where around 75-85 if you tried to accelerate slowly sometimes the whole car would shake and it would throw a CEL and you wouldn't make any boost?

That problem is basically what lead to me getting rid of mine, there were quite a few first year (in the US at least) Evos having that problem and i spent way too much time and money trying to fix it on my own when Mitsu couldn't seem to permanently fix it.

edit: i know it sux to not have boost anymore but the Mazda3 is a nice car!

I got bored over 3 years of noise and uncomfortable 1st gear traffic driving. Your brother has car ADD.
