Spiderman 3 crashing constantly. How can I try window mode?

It'll freeze either at the intro when it's displaying the flash screen showing all the logo's, or during the second tutorial, I want to troubleshoot around but I can't even figure out how to put the game in windowed mode (tried -w and -windowed)

I really wanted to play this game but it locks up my whole computer :\

Why do you think window mode would be less demanding?

Have you tried simply shutting down all background processes and lowering video settings?
