Using front audio line in instead of back in XP?
If I want to use front audio-out, I just plug something in there and the mobo automatically uses front and mutes the back. If I want to use the front microphone, I have to click "Use alternate microphone" in the advanced mic controls.
But how do I activate the front line-in? If I plug something in the front, it still tries to use the back. There doesn't seem to be an option for it anywhere in the audio control panel. I'm doing this because I'm using the option "Rear speakers connected to Line In" to use a second set of stereo speakers to make a 4.1 surround config. It's working better than I thought it would, but the cord isn't long enough to actually put them behind me unless I can connect them to my front jack.
