messed up sleep schedule and poor diet
Hello [B]one
My sleep schedule is messed up... I sleep at 3-4am, and wake up at 1-3pm. I try sleeping earlier but I just end up laying down in bed until the same time I would have been up anyway. Due to this I cant wake up early either. I set my alarm clock at 11... but somehow I end up turning off in my sleep. Then I wake up feeling like shit. I'm always tired, unmotivated and in a blur. I took a step forward and got off the coffee, and started eating healthy stuff and started looking at my fitday account again. But this sleep thing is killing me, I wake up at 2 and most of my day is gone. I want to get on a schedule where I sleep at 10-11pm and wake up at 6-7am. Eventually I want to start jogging in the mornings to lose a few pounds and get in shape. I weigh 195lbs now, I should be about 170. So I have a good 20lbs to lose. Any suggestions on how to fix these things? I was thinking of chugging some nyquil to help me sleep at 10pm and then I'll wake up at 7am via 10 alarm clocks and start off fresh or something.. |

a better way to reset your internal clock is to don't go to sleep at all tonight and force yourself to stay up all day tomorrow without any naps and then finally crash at 8, 9 or 10 PM. you should wake up in the morning instead of the afternoon. better than relying on sleep aid drugs like nyquil in my opinion.

Heres what you do TODAY. Read this post, change into shorts and a t shirt. Then I want you to go run 1 mile, and walk/job the second. When back and home do 50 pushups, 50 situps, shower then eat something light.
I promise you you'll be tired by 1030. Set your alarm clock for 7am and for Christ sake GET UP. Do this tomorrow and since you've been up since 7am, you'll again be tired by 10ish... Don't look for alternatives when this works.

great idea, too bad I read it too late... Ill just go for a walk in a bit or something.. I'd be happy if I could get 15 pushups and situps done... lol.... Thanks for the great advice I have a p/t job on Th Fri and I can be there anytime from 9am-11:30am... this agreement makes me be lazy and take advantage of it... I'm lazy... and I need to take control of my laziness too. |

Damn man, I have the EXACT same schedule. For some reason I don't seem to be able to go to sleep before 3 AM. And I've always been like this, since I was like 9 years old (I'm 24 now).
I actually like it to be honest, my favorite part of the day is from 10pm - 4am. Altough I'm quite fond of the afternoons too. I absolutely hate waking up early. Not that I have a problem to do it when I need to, but first chance I'll get (say.... friday) I'll stay up until about 3-4am. Not because I determine myself to do this, it's just what feels natural for me... |
