Spotty WinAVI problem with 2 source files
I like to use WinAVI for converting AVI files to DVD to be played on a standard DVD player. Its pretty much perfect for converting 1 file to DVD format. Never had any problems. But sometimes when I have two avi files the burned DVD will stop playback at the halfway point. Right where the original files split. I'd say maybe 1 in 3 DVDs with 2 source files do this. I tried using an avi joiner once but it just messed the file up and made it unusable.
What can I do to prevent this from happening? I hate it when it happens, cause I end up having to throw the disc away. Does it have to do with what codec the original files were encoded in? Where one codec it combines and works fine, but another codec causes a blip of some kind so the DVD restarts or just hangs in the middle? I've never really looked at what codecs they are, so I don't know what ones work and what ones don't. If that even makes a difference. I'm just kinda lost as to what to do. I don't want to keep wasting discs like that. TIA

I upgraded from version 7.7 to 8.0. Gonna try that and see if it works. But I have a feeling that it won't make a difference.

I'll bump this to give it one more chance. Then it can die I guess.
