Apple World Wide Developers Conference Thread
Tomorrow is the day. I know what all of you are thinking right now, why is HardLine of all fucking people making a thread about this?!
I had a Mac for 3 months last year. It was enjoyable for the most part, but without Office I really couldn't get shit done. Rosetta is balls and at the time there was no such thing as Boot Camp or Parallels. Yesterday while sitting in O'Hare thanks to a delayed flight I noticed someone running Excel 2007 on their MacBook Pro. I sat next to him and we chatted for about an hour. Everything he hated about the Mac I hated, everything he loved about the Mac I loved. It was comforting to see the start bar hovering above the Dock. With that in mind, I'm eager to see what 10.5 has to offer. I'm running Vista right now and it just isn't my cup of tea. Sure it is better than XP, but fuck it doesn't feel like it was worth the 5 year wait. With that in mind, I made this thread. Now don't think I'm an Apple nut just yet. I fucking hate Steve Jobs for the shit that comes out of his mouth, but as a marketer he has my respect. I hate the majority of Mac fans for thinking that their platform is the best, when the reality is platform doesn't matter. What helps you achieve your goal in the best possible way is what you should use. I dual boot Vista and Ubuntu. If 10.5 impresses I might be triple booting by the end of this year. 10:00 PST (California) 12:00 CST (Texas) 13:00 EST (New York) I'm going to be keeping track of this on Engadget and Mac Rumors. Umm. It's still Saturday here on the west coast. You got my hopes up.
 I have a final at 10:30 too. Anywho, I want to see how they finally integrate Time Machine. When I got a developer seed it was pretty fucking useless. Spaces was kick ass, but that has it's own use. I'm stoked for 10.5 though, finally.

I'm just hoping one of the "Top Secret" features is an improved Finder. I switched about 6 months ago and still despise it.
Can't wait for the keynote. I actually enjoy basking in Jobs' RDF every few months, it's fun. |
