So I just got my first OLD male "stalker"? (I'm a straight male)

I started a summer internship at a corporation a few weeks back. There's a facebook group for interns, people posting threads to meet up, eat in cafeteria, play sports, look for summer roomates, etc...

There was a thread about meeting up to eat lunch (it's a huge campus with many, many buildings and a few cafeterias in a couple buildings). For privacy, let's say the cafeteria is in building 21. I mention I work in building 20, don't know any fellow interns in my business unit, so usually eat alone. This is a thread with at least 15 diff college age students working near our cluster of 4 buildings, who had posted in this thread.

3 days later I get a friend request. He says "I see you work at XXX. I work at XXX for 8+ years in it-mkt build 8. it is nice to knwo you. keep in touch. i can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXX"

one hour later: "As per profile u seems to be a impressive person, i would be interested in talking to u some time or perhaps meet you some eher near XXXX in cafe, do let me know when we can talk/meet and what is best contact number to reach you."

wait what... I "seems to be an impressive person"? So I click his profile. he COPIED my activites and interests section word for word. Now, my profile has some pretty unique things, and things that are only only really relevant for college age kids and people in their 20's. In other words things like beer, snowboarding, getting wasted at the bars, Objectivism, philosophy, drinking, music, indie movies

This guy is 38 years old, and his name sounds Middle Eastern, and obviously not from the US given his odd grammar and name. Now even if there is a 38 year old Middle Eastern foreigner who loves to drink, snowboard, is Atheist, likes Objectivism and Ayn Rand (wtf!), and likes similar things as me... why copy my Activites and Interests word for word? Hmm... no photo on facebook either, no wall posts, and his wall is spammed with 100s of "...is now friends with XXX".

Strange, creepy, and why the fuck would he copy my profile word for word? So I search our corporation's employee directory for his name, and #. No match for either. No match for just his last name either. Even more creepy.

Finally he messages me today morning again, for the 4th time: "What is good time we can talk some time or meet at XXX cafe.

My # is XXX-XXX-XXX"

Genmay, what do I do?

i know this sounds stupid, but are you sure he's real? there's spammers and businessmen out for whatever they want, and it sounds like he's one of them. i think you're looking way way way way way way too into this.

Cliffs:

1. Facebook group for college interns. I reply in one of many threads
2. Get a friend request and msg from some 38 year old Middle Eastern guy. Innocent enough, maybe he's just really friendly?
3. 2nd msg: calls me impressive, compliments me, tells me to keep in touch. I've never talked with him, nor does he even work with me.
4. He copies parts of my profile, word for word
5. Sends me another message telling we should meet in the cafeteria and asking what my number is.
6. Can't find this guy's name anywhere in our company's employee directory. No facebook pictures. He has 67 friends he added in the past month, no wall posts.

Man... now I know how girls must feel, except they have to go through this on a daily basis

but what spammer gives what seems to be a valid #, and repeatedly asks to meet up in a corporate cafeteria?

Or copies someone's profile? Keep in min this is facebook, not myspace. Why my profile out of the 67 others on his friends list

His other profile info seems valid... some weird Middle Eastern university, some employer in India, Ebay.com (wtf?), and my current company.

And he's never sent me a link to any site or whatever in the 4 msg's he's sent me. and wtf spammer bothers contacting 1 person that many times with a msg that obviously wasnt cut-n-paste?

"no I'm not going to meet you, you seem weird and seem to have copied my facebook profile. please stop messaging me."

or, if you want to keep getting attention for this like you seem to want, show it to all your intern buddies and ask if they've experienced this. next, set up a meeting and have someone take pictures or something

contact someone in charge of human resources within your company. They will know for sure or not wether or not this person works for them, and if there are any past issues.
