Pretty sure that is a black shadow made by vincent. Great bikes! Wish I could find one in a barn . . . .

DING DING DING!

The Moto Guzzi Ottocilindri was a racing bike back in 50s that had a v8 engine not much wider then the inline 4's of its time. The engine and the bike were without precedent: a water-cooled, 500 cc V-8 motorcycle -- with dual overhead cams and a separate carburetor for each of the eight cylinders. Weighing only 99 lb its miniaturized components tightly packaged, the engine produced an unprecedented 78 hp at 12000 rpm. The motorcycle proved capable of achieving 172 mph -- 20 years before the speed was reached again in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

It was unreliable as hell though and only ran in a few races. Also, while the engine was great the rest of the bike was seriously lacking. This made testing difficult and racing flat out dangerous. Only a handful of people have ridden the two bikes produced, and by 1957 everyone flat out refused to ride them again. This killed the project for Moto Guzzi.

Makes a great noise too:

Ya, and it has that kinda fork looking thing going up. Yamaha had airspace. (They did make a racer though.)

Looks like a SSSA or at least a very weird one. Also the rims are not like either. I am stumped on this one.
