Nice. Are you going to leave the injection system as it is, or can you get hold of a Pumpe Duse system?

PD can suck it. system is staying as is, pp520's are probably in order (bigger injectors), possibly the pp757(I think thats the number...) for expansion later. looking at various pump upgrades but will probably keep it as just injectors right now to keep the cost at the budget level

If your going pp520's or bigger I think about a bigger pump now while everythings out, 11mm or 12mm.

Also make sure you get a water pump with a metal impellor, Graf is the one I got.

Getting a VNT-17 would also rock if you can sell the newish VNT-15 though...I take it but I'm gonna upgrade to a VNT-17 when my turbo goes(hopefully not soon!).

FTW, you are going to want a bigger pump down the line if you go with the larger of the injectors.

I completely expect to want a bigger pump in the future but those things even used are going to set me back 600-1000 without a problem, especially for a 12mm. I'm going to wait until I've got the car up and running and sell off the parts car before spending that kind of money on something I don't really need to get it going at this point. Gotta watch the project cost creep.

now the vnt17... that is something i'm probably going to get as it can be had pretty cheaply by selling the other turbo.

posting under the roommates login - this is Tongboy

I REALLY considered that option of an r32 drivetrain into the 20th, they can be had for about 8k but I didn't really want to ruin the uniqueness and sweetness of the 20th when I could get an r32 for maybe a few K more and get a REAL r32.

this will be my last car project for a while. I am getting an old motorcycle from a friend that needs atleast carb rebuild to get it going - thats my only planned next project, still have to finish this one though

It's looking like a hydrolock like thermo said, I didn't have the headgasket to inspect but the head didn't have any problems that were noticeable so I don't think it was mechanical failure blown headgasket dumping coolant and hydrolocking #2 looks the most possible
