I love how fast you are going through this stuff.

Keep me in mind if you get a Mk4. I have a set of 4x100 brake rotors (rear slotted) that I would be willing to trade for parts.

7 weeks left, i've gotta absolutel SLAY this project to get it done that fast.

I'm calling to confirm the purchase of the project car tonight when i'm home from work - the interesting part is me planning on stripping it in a single weekd, I mean I have to, gotta get my dads truck back to him. so it's going to be, drive to portland on friday night, seattle in the morning, get car, back to pullman, strip car to frame truck back to portland - car to scrap yard in portland to help offset gas prices and back to pullman for work! i'm probably going to make it a 3 day weekend, but still, damn thats going to suck, SO many miles

350 to portland
200 to seattle
300 to pullman
350 to portland
350 to pullman
1500 miles!

I think the caddy would have problems towing a mk4 around.

i'm going to be drivin' my dads new dodge with the cummins in it, so the diesel love will still be present

Hey I don't know...

If an A4 can do this

There was another guy who bought another TDI and towed it back home 500 miles with his current one, thats 3000 pounds.

Although it may be a bit much for a 1.6 but an older SDI 1.9 could do it I bet.

woo, i'm so damn stoked!

I talked to the guy with the parts car i've been going after and confirmed everything.

car has a TON of aftermarket stuff on it and is in good shape minus the missing piece of the #2. i've confirmed i'm going to buy it and will be picking it up on next saturday

I'm SO tempted to simply fix the engine and drive that car, or hell, even sell it, I could EASILY make 3-4k on that AFTER fixing the engine.

I have a friend looking into buying the parts of the car I don't need for 2500 bucks as well - he's thinking 2.slow + 16v head + turbo swap car.

or I still have the option of stripping the car and selling it in pieces and probably making about 2500 back with all the aftermarket stuff on it.

I just checked my ebay auction and the engine got sold an hour ago for the buy it now price - shoulda set it higher, damn! either way, If I add up EVERYTHING i've spent thus far on the project the sale of the engine pretty much zeroes me out again.

still waiting for pics off the camera of the physical progress tonight - stripped the front doors and did interior cleanup, didn't get much done as I was on the phone most of the time
