ITT: I want to feel you from the inside (NSFW! NSFW!!!!!!)
Spent a week working at Harborview Medical Center with the Neuropathology department. Lots of dissections and disgusting stuff...lots of 7 am meetings and lectures about shit I didn't understand. But lots of fun anways...
My day in the autopsy room: 64 y/o white male, death from peritanitis. But there's soooo much more!    what a good bone saw does...and what your skull really looks like from the inside without the brain.  sewing it back up!   what you look like with no internal organs.   all of the internal organs removed from the body. check out the emphsyma on that one!

  working with the other doctor to dissect the organs to find probably exit points for fecal matter to escape into the interstitial fluid, which caused the fatal infection.  what's this? a one pound, 7 inch lung tumor? this guy was dead anyways. I couldn't get more pictures from my time in the King County Medical Examiner's Office (apparently, with homicides, it's against the law if you're not THE medical examiner to photograph the autopsy), nor did I get the brain dissections or the 30 pound, 6 inch wide colon from the operating room. But damn, it was cool... But the best part was the view from my room at the house I was staying at. Sooo gorgeous.  I  Seattle. Still bummed Toy-Yoda and I never got to meet up, but hopefully I'll be back for medical school or an internship for the summer.
