Well, i'll be 18 in six months. So i'm sure age has something to do with it.

Anyone have advice on which companies to go with for insurance, and which to avoid? Geico? Progressive?

Don't have full coverage. Just have liability.

Just found this video. It covers so much, I thought some of you here should deffinetly see this. Awesome video. Talks about everything.

I liked the quote in it.

"people will go snow skiiing, and they HAVE to take a lesson. They wont go skiiing without taking a lesson. Yet they'll jump on a sportbike without really knowing what theyre doing. Thats crazy"
I just watched that, definately worth it. There was one thing I really didn't like though: they claimed that the race bikes had looser tolerances. My impression was that although they ran looser, they had tighter tolerances (ie they run loose, but at a very specific looseness)

I'm planning on doing MSF and getting a bike this summer, i'm only 5'3 (5'4 on a good day) so I guess i'm kind of size limited...are there any cheaper alternatives to a ninja 250 for my size and beginner level? 1.7k would be my ideal max spending limit. Thanks!

Was going to say, I have full coverage and pay like $900 / year

The only tolerance they really care about is piston to wall, and as far as I can see, there's no way to make that "tight" if it's "loose."

Because its a 250, I would just have liability. Its supposed to be a throw away bike if something were to happen. I doubt even a 250 would get stolen in California

You shouldnt be paying more than 300 for liability. Hell for a 2006 ninja 636 liability for me would be $300, and im 18 with an at fault. If that $1000 payment was liability, something is wrong
