discoloration in groin (upper inner thigh next to genitals)

Just noticed this in the mirror after my last shower. Ill be calling the doc tomorrow afternoon about it, but in the meantime.

There is a discoloration in my groin. two ovular shaped areas, on either side of my goods where my thighs meet everything else. Bout the size of two quarters overlaid. Skin is just darker in color (basically its the same color as my scrotum and not the same color as the rest of my white thighs). Its not red, irritated or bothersome in any way. There is no discomfort.

The only thing i can think of is that i over worked that area (ive been having an unusually high ammount of sex with my girlfriend and my hips/thighs are taking the brute of the force, but thats a different BC thread). I shower daily, and clean my stuff well. I am safe during sex and we are both free of dissease, so im at a loss. It almost seems as if these spots are bruises or something.

What could it be? (i already did a google and it came up with jock itch basically)

Dear dotcommie,
I have seen this many times. It happened to me when I was but a wee Grimling. Blackballs is the accumulative result of pulling skin and ignoring the testicles and scrotum.

Many years of playing the dantal can lighten your penile complexion due to erosion of the superior follicles. This tugging can also cause the skin from as far as your rectum to be pulled towards your navel, causing it to gather in tightly undulating man flesh.

The solution is to give the balls some loving: Regular massages, shampoos and getting it tungue tugged. Massaging the scrotum can even out the skin and return it to the orginal color it was many eons ago.

Thank you for your question

Yeah because people don't google search symptoms and not pay attention to the date since it just took them to the thread.

Just because it's the bone closet, I'll chime in with a good response, regardless if the question was from 2005 or not. Those with pityriasis versicolor can treat it with regular old Selsun Blue. Just pour some onto a wash cloth or soapy poofy thing, lather, and scrub. Then you can wash over that with your regular soap. a few days of this and it kills the bacteria that causes it. Mine shows up when the weather gets warmer. Selsun Blue works great to get rid of it.

It could be Dermatitis herpetiformis developing.

Which don't worry about the name, it has nothing to do with herpes, it is an autoimmune disease, more akin to eczema.

What it means is you are intolerant to gluten.

There is a few obvious signs that it is Dermatitis herpetiformis
1. It is usually symmetrical on the two sides of the body. So if it is on your inner thigh on the right leg, it will also be on roughly the same spot on the left leg.
2. It develops in the warm enclosed areas of the body like, between the buttocks, under the armpits, inner thighs, and also right in the groin area around genitals.
3. It usually starts to develop in a persons 20's.

Now, if you go to google image search and type in Dermatitis herpetiformis you will get back some horror pictures, and due to the severity of what you see in these photos, you may believe that it is not what you have. But understand that Dermatitis herpetiformis can start out as just mild discoloration of the skin, and if you don't treat it, as in, if you keep eating gluten and sugary diet, it will get worse and worse, the skin will blister and scale over.

If you have just darkish discoloration right now, thats not really a big signifier that you are developer Dermatitis herpetiformis . But if it starts to get itchy, and reddish. Then yes you probably are developing herpatitis dermatitis and you need to cut gluten out of your diet, and also sugar and dairy probably.
