My torrent connections do the same thing, I think my isp is dicking around with them.

Any way to download without my isp screwing around?

this is not the same problem - my torrents are perfectly okay lol, its regular dls that are screwed up
would they seriously just lower your connection speed for some time, then back to normal again?
i mean, - i have 5 Mb/s dl on the same site at one time, but then it lowers to 40 Kb/s (!!!) dl later on

oh and in games: warcraft III dl is omg too slow - i get kicked as a presumable 56k
but WoW i get 20-50 ms ping and Cs:S i get 30-60 ms ping
seriously

Limit your upload to something respectable. If your up speed is 384kb/s, you should be uploading at around 40KB/s, so anything more than 32 is going to slow all of your internet programs down. I bring this up because you said something about automatically changing upload, and that's not cool.

Aside from that, a properly seeded torrent won't affect your download speed but if you get a bunch of leechers limiting their upload to 1KB/s then your speed is going to be shit unless you're the only peer downloading from every single leecher.

there's too many factors here
i'm guessing that your torrent program was downloading parts that were highly available, then when it gets to parts where only a few peers/seeds have it starts to slow down, because there is you and alot of other people trying to get those same parts

I notice mine does this too...I have RR premium

My downloads usually start at 900-1000 and slow to 600-700 as the download goes and stay at that speed the rest of the way.

usually that's TCP/IP stack changing the window size for that connection until it gets to something it likes
