i've got a '93 with an E4OD, in the near future i plan on seeing how much power can be snagged via just working the head (i've actually got a good diagram of what needs to be done to the head to get the most power out of it if anyone is interested), and one day i might swap in a manual

........ possibly a turbo one day
possibly

Those engines don't make much in the line of horsepower but they sure as hell last a long time...

I wonder what a new intake manifold with equal length runners would do for it

only reason they don't make much HP is because the head sucks

as for the new intake manifold, just look at EFI
and those heads actually flow worse than a carb'd head

supply and demand
there's so little demand, that anyone supplying them would have to charge exhorbitant amounts...

you think AFR heads are expensive? ha
we've had guys on FordSix.com check, i think the last person to look into it got a response of something like 100 concrete customers (cash already paid) at a price of something like $2K per head

however...
then there's this

take two LSx heads (these are LS1 heads), cut them in two-cylinder sections, weld ends together!
guy was charging a shitload for 'em... but hey, if you find them for cheap then you should be able to get a good chunk of the price knocked off
it would definitely make the casting process much much easier as you could just follow an already made casting

Yeah, most people would just assume swap in a 302 or a 351 windsor or something along those lines
