I am really REALLY looking forward to catching this flick. I grew up on this shit (lolz yeah old man GTFO) . No musical scene since then has come even close to what these guys all did back then. You might not like the music, but you can't deny the energy and passion that it carried. Bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, C.O.C.,MDC 9(ol, my old band opened up for them once) the list goes on and on

http://www.sonyclassics.com/americanhardcore/

I can't fucking WAIT!

(yeah I know, living in the past, all that shit)

've been wanting to see that too, actually. But I've always been a bit more into the hardcore/thrash/crossover stuff, so this one really hits home for me.

I don't much care for hardcore. There's one band I don't mind, and that's Ceremony (sp?)

All that fucking metalcore shit is fucking stupid. Worst music on the planet.

I grew up on this stuff too (I remember impatiently waiting for
the DK's second album to be released), and I think the underground
scene is better now then it ever has been.
It's harder to find good music maybe, because there's dozens
of subgenres of punk&metal now, and for every good band there's
several thousand terrible mockeries, but if you can sort through
all of it, it's worth it.
(I mostly listen to art-grind (Melt-Banana, The Locust, The
Flying Luttenbachers, etc) but I just got back from a Dropdead
show which was amazing, so I still do like some more traditional
hardcore.)

I had no idea there was a music genre called art-grind. And I'm not sure if I'd put The Locust or Melt Banana in that genre.

*IS* there a genre for MxBx? I usually call it either art-grind
or avant-grind, except there's some people that use the avant-grind
term to mean "post grind" rather than "avant garde grind".
Witte plays drums for them. That qualifies them as grind.
And The Locust are basicly new-wave grind, so "art" is applicable.
(Plus the performance-art aspect of their shows, of course.)
