Safe knife disposal - getting rid of old knives
Anyone have any tips on disposing of old knives? I have some old dull kitchen type knives I want to get rid of, but I'm not sure of the safest way to do it.

completely dull the cutting edges and tips, either with sandpaper or a hammer, then put in trashcan.

Then maybe if you have some cardboard laying around, wrap a section of cardboard around the blade then tape it up. I guess similar to the way bigger kitchen knives are packaged.

go to a local shipping place, buy a 3 inch by x ( where x is the length of the blade plus a couple of inches ) piece of styrofoam board, slide the knife in the middle of the styrofoam, and tape it into it. Thats how we always disposed of razors, knives would work similarly well.

recycle. Its probably more metal than plastic so it goes in the metal container @ your closest recyckle station. We have them everywhere here in Sweden, Ive got 2 within 2min walking distance.
