How do I invert the colors of Acrobat PDF documents?

I currently use Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional and there are several e-books I'd like to finish. I'd like to read them on screen but after a while staring at a white screen becomes painful and I resort to printing a few pages out and reading them.

Without wasting all that paper I could probably just invert the colors on a black and white PDF so the text is white and the "paper" is black. That will surely make on screen reading easier on the eyes. As for how to do that I have no idea. I've searched Google, Acrobat Help and looked through all the settings to no avail.

So if anyone knows how to do this that would be great.

Cool, I'll try that when I get home. I'd still like to reverse colors inside Acrobat but this should work for now.

I think that's why this forum is so easy to read, white text on a dark background. It's so much easier on the eyes.

Using adobe 8, you can save a pdf to a text file. Then with ms word 2007, under the "page layout" tab, you can click on "page colour" in the "page background" box and choose a black background. If you don't have word '07 then I'm sure an older version would be able to do something similar.

I agree with having a black background. Much easier on the eyes.

You're probably on windows but on os x you can invert the entire screen. Ctrl-opt-cmd-8.
