Replacing a broken laptop LCD hinge? (R60)

I have a Lenovo R60 and my left LCD hinge snapped at the horizontal metal part.

Here's a pic of how it's broken (not my pic but it snapped exactly the same):

I ordered replacement hinges (a left and right set) on Ebay and they just arrived today but I have no idea how to install them.

Does anyone know how to install them and can tell me step by step or have a link to a guide?

Any help will be much appreciated!

Thank you.

too many steps to list. honestly though this is one of those things that you shouldn't do unless your sure what your doing. if your not sure take it to a professional. you will have to disassemble the main body of the laptop and the lcd housing and that is a pain in the ass even when you know what you are doing.

on the other hand if you can live with the possibility of ruining your laptop just dive in head first and start disassembling that thing. from my experience thinkpads are pretty well put together and don't have a lot of important plastic bits that break easily.

I just finished installing the right hindge on my R60.

Took me 40 mins, but i have no previous expirience with such a job. All i had previously done was replace the keyboard.

Anyways, if you still haven't figured it out, I can post some brief steps to get you through.

Its not that hard.
