The thing i noticed about BMWs is they always look like they are leisure cruising. When actually cruising, speeding or running a 9 second pass. It just doesn't change Good for cops, not good for impressing bystanders...

It's entirely too easy. They are so quiet, so composed at any speed. I'm personally a fan of the limit feature. I set mine to 80. It's nice to get that *bing* when you get caught up rowing gears on an empty six lane boulevard somewhere.

I had my share of over-100 fun, including one ticket. $500 and 30 day suspension in 04.

Proud to say I've only burried the needle a couple times recently, for example when taking my friend to the airport at 5 AM with nothing in sight for miles. Not having to go to court and stuff ftw. Listening to smooth jazz helps

If only they had a tiered license system, with faster driver qualifications!

you motherfuckers have it so damn easy

in Australia, 30km/h over the speed limit gets you a $650 fine and immediate 3 month license suspension, and 45km/h over the speed limit gets you a $1,750 fine and immediate 6 month license suspension.

Our highest speed limit in AU is 110km/h - so 100mp/h would be 160km/h (50km/h over the limit), and you would've lost your license for 6 months and wore a $1,750 fine.


...and then comes the demerit points scheme. Yeah, as if an immediate suspension wasn't enough. Accrue more than 12 demerit points in a 3 year period and you lose your license for another 3 months. You get 5 demerit points for 30km/h over the limit, and 6 demerit points for 45km/h over the limit. And that's in conjunction with the immediate suspension - you get both.

I mean, fuck, you get 3 points if you get caught doing 10km/h over - that's 6mp/h over the limit. Get caught doing 10mp/h over the limit four times in three years and you lose your license.

...aaaand then comes the harsher penalties if you're on your P's (provisional license, held for the first 3 years of driving). Get this - P platers are only allowed to accrue 4 demerit points. And guess what - P platers who get caught speeding doing ANYTHING over the limit get at least 4 points. So, in essence, if you get caught speeding in your first 3 years of driving - doesn't matter what speed, can be 5km/h over the limit - you lose your license.
