For mods/smods: How to quickly and easily deal with spammers

1: Identify spammer
2: find one of spammers posts and click on his name
3: select: find more posts by "spammer"
4: click top check box on right hand top of list to select all posts
5: at bottom right of screen select: "Delete these posts as spam" from the drop down mod menu
6: input password if necessary
7: on next screen select: ban this user and type "spam" into the reason for deletion
8: on the next screen select: "pwned" and make sure it is permanent. type "spammer" for reason
9: profit

sometimes they can sneak a few more posts in while you are doing this so be sure to check for that after you are done but usually this will completely expunge and ban a spammer in a few quick easy steps.

a quick way to automate this would be to use the dupe detector to automagically ban people with more than 4 alternate identities.

It's stupid when we get dupedetector messages like this:

werbrn seems to have multiple personalities using freejor and bigerwenson and ghrfder and merdweht and rewrtjg and mdgthg and bfhkujk and guyksf and Merjkr and ffewdgd and grfruyes and nfgfhdr and mdsghr and leersferson and ertyrhg and wsgasd and hfdatp and hsgwwl and fdzfge and hgdhte and qhsdg and hgfggukl and mearyjor and hrygert and benmery and tomgrter and gerymen and certerben and werbrn sharing the same computer. No soup for you! and you! and you!

Could always get the Spam o Matic addon for VB. I use it at mpcforum and we've gone from 5k+ spammers a day to 1 a week.
