I wonder how badly I am gonna get reamed by Farmers...

Couple weeks back, I love tapped an Audi A7 in my A4 (ironically bought from the same dealer AND sales man) causing about $1,500 worth of damage to the A7 (those bumpers are not cheap - believe me...) and about $4,500 to passenger side of my car (AND ALL THAT FROM A HIT AT LIKE 2-3 MPH!). Yes I am at fault; shit happens.

Two days later, I am driving that same car on to get some estimates and the car in front of me drives over a piece of plastic that shoots from underneath its wheels and smashes into the driver side scraping my hood, bumper, headlight, fender, door and smashing my mirror... about $2,500 worth of damage.

The first claim is at-fault and as such is a collision claim while the second one is not-at-fault (as I understand) and filed as a comprehensive claim. Yup - two claims in one week, two days apart from each other.

I am not looking forward for my insurance renewal.

Seriously, you couldn't get a better deal than Farmers?

They were about a thousand more a year in premium than their nearest competitor for the same coverage in my market.

My current premiums for two cars ('13 A4 and '14 A6) with full coverage (250/500) with $1000 collision deductible, $100 comprehensive and OEM part coverage + my house insurance totals to about $2200/year. That's pretty damn good for California.

Wow, that's pretty-well reamed already.

I've got basically the same thing for my '71 Datsun, '92 Nissan, '06 Infiniti, and '90 Cadillac plus umbrella and uninsured motorist for $1800 here in the Land of Entrapment, where we are apparently tied for 2nd worst drivers in the nation.

I was a little peeved about the homeowners insurance going up to $600 this year, but suddenly I feel better about it.

Y'know, of the four cars I own, two of them are appreciating in value, year over year.
